They made it

After a couple of days of anticipation and disappointment, Paw Paw and GG are finally here! They arrived early, early Monday morning. So far we've had lunch at Rudy's (if I could find my phone I'd post my picture of Paw with his Rudy's cup), gotten a replacement C-pap machine for Paw from Las Cruces, toured just about all of El Paso and watched the boys play in the pool. Tonight I made Shrimp and Grits that would've impressed Paula Deen! We had Jake's cousin, Jordan, over for dinner, too. He's stationed here at Fort Bliss so we try to have him over when all schedules align.

Anyone who knows my father in law knows that you can't go anywhere without him making a friend or finding someone who knows someone that he knows. Today we go to Chick Fil A in fareast El Paso for lunch. They're having a big customer appreciation/ promotion of a new store shindig. We just went there for the #1, polynesian sauce and the play area! When we walked in the door, we were greeted with a welcome from a guy who just happens to be a junior at Auburn University, Benny's Alma Mater. Then we were given free brownies. Bailey had his devoured in about 3 seconds! In the process of getting the brownie, Benny discovered that the woman offering brownies works at Chick Fil A headquarters in Atlanta with a girl that he knows from his days in Alabama. The woman in El Paso even called headquarters on her cell phone to try and get the girl on the phone. I'm not making this stuff up!!!

While I'm talking about Chick Fil A, I have to tell you about the funny thing a little girl said to Jake in the play area last time we were there, like 3 days ago! Bailey had crawled up into the top of the play area stuff and couldn't figure out how to get down. So Jake recruited a little girl that had been playing with Bailey to attempt to help him get down. After a few minutes of conversation with the girl, she climbed up to the top and got close to Bailey. Then she made a classic statement - "I can't help him. He smells like doo doo." He did indeed smell like doo doo so I don't blame the little girl for not wanting to help him!

Pictures to come...when I can locate my cell phone! It's on silent so calling it will do me no good.

I'm so glad to hear that Paw & GG made it. Wish we could be there, too. I know the boys are loving all the attention.
