Clean House

Why is it that when I say I need to clean my house, it always takes me an entire day and the work still is not completely done? My house never just needs to be straightened. It always needs to be cleaned. I could come up with a million and one reasons as to why it's so difficult for me, impossible is more like it, to keep my house clean.

Reason #s 1 - 4
are the people who live here. (Notice I even included myself in those 4 reasons!)

Reason #5
could be that the 2 shortest in stature of reasons of Reason #s 1-4 are needy and are prone to undoing every bit of cleaning that I do almost immediately as it is done. They also are very good at giving only short stints of time to clean without them needing something. (Love their little hearts, but they're mess makers!)

Reason #6
could be the fact that I work part time now and haven't figured out how to do what I used to do when I wasn't working and still work. (Don't get me wrong, I love my part time children's ministry position.)

Reason #7
could be the abundance of STUFF that I can't make myself give up. (Remember, I'm a founding member of Pack Rats Anonymous).

Reason #8
could be my faulty organizing systems and need to invest money into better storage containers or drawers or something. (Sometimes $1 plastic bins just don't cut it!)

Reason #9
could just be a lack of energy! (See Reason #s 1-4, #5, and #6)

Reason #10
could be that I'd rather read blogs or play scrabulous on Facebook than clean my house! (I admit it - I'm a blogging, Facebook addict.)

Okay, so I could go on and on and on and could probably spend the time I'm spending blogging working on my organizing/cleaning issues.

The moral of the story is that if you ever want to give me a great gift, one that would be appreciated for years to come, you could hire me a Professional Organizer to come in and do an overhaul on my storage systems or lack thereof! I could also use about a twice monthly maid service just to help keep things from becoming completely out of control!

Jake says he could do all these things for me for free, but I'm sure that would involve a large bonfire in our back yard or the rental of a dumpster and a mass destruction of my worldly goods!

So, while you go to your staff meeting, I think I have an idea that involves my love of black trash bags and Jake's love of a big bonfire...=) Mmmmm...

I agree with all of those reasons! It is so hard to find time to clean!

"Gonna get a clean house." Niecy from that show on the Style network, Clean House...I love that show - foolishness is her favorite word! But it isn't for the faint of heart or packrats anonymous, either...just thought that made me laugh and I'd share...=)
