Wow Wow Wednesday

This week's website find - I actually found this a while back, but have just gotten to the point where I'm almost serious about diving into coupon world - is Coupon Mom. Some friends and I have been having the coupon conversation lately. I really do need to figure out how to save money on groceries. Having an income and a half has been very comfortable and I haven't tried too hard to save on groceries other than trying to use all the groceries I buy! So I'm about ready for the challenge, but from what I've read so far, I've gotta change the way I do my grocery shopping and how I plan my menu! We get pretty good deals at the Commissary already so I'm anxious to see if I can save us even more. I'll keep you posted on the journey!

Do you have any grocery saving tips?
Pass them along! I want to learn!!!

I plan our meals around the sales/coupon deals I find, and I stockpile (in the freezer) any fabulous meat deals. Meat is not always on sale, and so when it is, I buy up! I also get a lot of our bread from the clearance bread section -- it's still really good most of the time.

Also, I get all of our toiletries for basically free from Walgreens using the rebate and Rapid Rewards system. It's time consuming, but saves a lot of moolah!

My freezer is filled with clearance items from the meat dept. of WalMart. They almost always have something marked down and that's what we eat that week. I have 10 packages of shrimp that were $6 marked down to $2. Smoked sausage was on sale regular $2.50 for $1 a package and I bought 20 packages. I never pay full price for meat. And I almost never buy name brands of anything. Every time I have a coupon for a name brand I can usually get the store brand cheaper even after subtracting the coupon savings. WalMart will also match the price of any other store's ads, so you don't have to go all over town for the sale price.
