Expensive Dry Cleaning

Yesterday I went to pick up LT's Dress Blues from the dry cleaners. He needed them cleaned and pressed in one day so that he could wear them tonight to a Dining In. I picked the 3 pieces up and was pleased to pay $15.68! I thought it would be much more than that since I was having them done in one day. The lady inside helped me carry them to the car and we were on our way.

Later, LT and I were getting out of the car and walking into the mall. For some reason, I happened to glance at the receipt and saw what she charged to my credit card for the dry cleaning and it said $76.xx? WHAT??? I knew exactly what she had done. The last four digits of my credit card are 76xx. It was an honest mistake. I really am glad that I looked at the receipt because normally I would've just thrown it away and never thought twice about it.

So I gathered all my receipts - the one that was on the bag of dry cleaned pieces and the $76.xx one and headed back over there today. A different girl was at work and wasn't sure what to do at first. After a brief phone call to the store's manager, she credited my card back the difference and we were settled.

I'm just grateful that for some odd reason I was looking at that receipt yesterday or that would've been the most expensive dry cleaning in the history of the planet! I'm not sure I ever would've noticed it or had the evidence to have it corrected by the time I did notice it.

I tried to get LT to let me take his picture in his Dress Blues, but he said he would rather wait until I'm dressed up with him next month when we go to the Dining Out. I spent a little while last night trying on some evening dresses and had a couple of good options, but none to which I was willing to commit. So be on the lookout for our dress up picture on June 7th or so.

Don't feel too bad - our normal dry cleaning when Chris had to dress everyday for work was in that $75 ballpark. I don't miss that one bit. Now, even if I save it up, it's not usually that bad - I am proud of you that you still had the receipt - did you ever return those plaid shorts to ON?

Ooof! That would have been an awful thing to realize when it was too late! I've caught many mistakes from looking at receipts...
