Do you ever have one of THOSE days? You know, the day when you know your husband isn't going to be home and it appears the children know it, too. They do everything they can possibly do to drive you insane, knowing you're not going to get a free minute or reinforcements until they are in night night land. TODAY was just that!!
I thought it was going to be grand. I had Bailey a reservation to go to the CDC to play for a few hours and I was going to come home and get some things accomplished. DREAM LAND!!! Bailey didn't want to go to the CDC so I had to carry him AND Maverick to his room. He wouldn't even roll his new CARS backpack in! He laid on the welcome mat at the door when I did take him to his room and the teacher had to come pick him up and convince him to go outside and play with them. I left so I don't know what happened after that. Maverick and I went to the Post Office, where I think I cut in front of some Captain - OOPS! It was one of those, "you go, no, you go..." Kind of like a 4 way stop sign where people can't figure out who stopped first!
We came home and Maverick was a wreck. He wanted to be held. He wanted to be fed. He wanted me to pay attention to him ONLY! So, I spent most of my Bailey-Free time attempting to be productive, but with a constant interruption by a 7 month old needy little boy who really was just tired. He fell asleep 10 minutes before we had to leave to pick up Bailey!
Bailey was 'resting' when I went to pick him up and as Jake likes to say, he looked like a krispy kreme doughnut in the car - his eyes were glazed :o) Not sure where he came up with that! Of course, Bailey had no interest in sleeping once we got home and neither did Maverick. For about 30 minutes, I had 2 extremely tired children in my house, neither with any intention of falling asleep. Bailey eventually did, but NOT Maverick! He fell asleep later on our way to the Commissary to get groceries! Grand!!!
In the middle of all of this, I get some news about the Children's Worship thing that has my feathers ruffled a little bit, but I'll get over it and try to be as graceful as I can as I address the issue.
Fun times!! Jake will be working a long day again tomorrow so I'm sure the day will be just as exciting! Yippee!!! At least I have the ladies who work in the nursery at church to hand them off to tomorrow night. I'll be so glad to see Ms. Ruth!!
