Kung Fu Fighting

Last week, Kung Fu Panda was available at the Redbox. For those of you who don't know what the Redbox is, it's a dvd rental stand found at many McDonalds, Walmarts, etc. You choose a movie on the touch screen, swipe your credit card and it spits your movie selection out the side. Movies are $1 a day. We figure even when we keep them 2 or 3 days it's still cheaper than most new releases at Blockbuster. We used to do Netflix, but when cash was tight when we first moved to EP, we stopped our Netflix subscription.

Back to the real story behind this post - I rented Kung Fu Panda for Bailey last Monday. He never acted really interested in it. Usually he'll want to watch the things we get from Redbox over and over and over. It seemed like he would watch the first 5 minutes and be done with it. Apparently he sa more than I thought he did.

Sunday, he bit a little boy at church. He's never been in trouble for biting another kid except for Maverick. At least no one has ever told me that he's bit them. I guess there was one other little girl he bit, but he was barely a year old when that happened. Yesterday at school, his teacher came up to me and told me that he had been more aggressive than he's ever been. He apparently has been bullying one particular kid in their class. I saw him slap at Maverick yesterday morning a couple of times and sent him to the steps (time out).

The only thing I can attribute his aggressive behavior to is Kung Fu Panda. He had to quit watching Jungle Book a while back because he started acting like he was the tiger and would pounce and then scratch at you like the tiger does in the movie. I forget how easily influenced he can be by what he sees. Most of the things he watches regularly are tame and don't cause him to be aggressive.

Farewell Kung Fu Panda!

Hmmm, that's interesting. We took our kids to see Kung Fu Panda in the summertime. Sky was absolutely enthralled. He did jump around the house for about a day attempting to do Kung Fu moves, but fortunately he never took it out on any people! I have to watch him with Batman/Spiderman movies, though. (The animated ones.) He does tend to get a little over-zealous with his "rescuing attempts" and I had to talk to him about it the other day.

I guess he wasn't "fast as lightning" or they wouldn't have caught him "kung fu biting!"
