As some of you have acknowledged, my blogging lately has been hit and miss - mostly miss! I think I've sunken into a sort of self preservation mode. I'm trying to figure out what our life looks like under the current circumstances and how I'm going to portray that to the outside world. Not that I have necessarily anything to hide or that I'm going to pretend that I'm superwoman or something because I'm certainly not. I was recently told by a friend from single life and now a fellow mommy that I was her hero. If she lived at my house last week, she wouldn't be saying that!
These are the times in my life when I learn some things, or am reminded, about myself that aren't always good, but not necessarily bad. If you've known me for any length of time, you know that I'm a 'private' person. That can be a sign of pride in my life, but in many aspects it's just who I am. I've always been this way and alot of it I have inherited from my family. We're not the kind of people who air our dirty laundry. We are highly independent and resourceful in figuring out how do deal with the challenges life throws at us. These traits, according to my mother, make me the ideal Army spouse.
If I weren't pregnant, my house would be one major project after another to help pass the time. It's sort of that way now, my energy level and the neediness of the little boys who live with me, just keep me from getting overly involved in such projects. They're not great shoppers so they're not helpful or cooperative when it comes to going to purchase things that I want to do my little projects. I do still have 1 1/2 closets I need to organize and I want to get some plants for our front. We also have a huge mess in our backyard from some black birds that have decided our house is a great place to live. As much as I think hanging an owl on my porch is just all out tacky, I think it's become a need at the Wade's house.
So if you've been wondering, we're here! We don't eat McDonald's every day - just on our way home from church on Sundays. I'm still saving us cash on groceries and other things thanks to the Grocery Game. That's been a fun venture, but would be more fun if Albertson's weren't the only grocery store where the list applies in our area.
