Everyone Loves A Parade

We started our 4th of July off with a ride in the Rotary Club of West El Paso's Independence Day Parade. I had a couple of different groups of volunteers from FBC tell me they thought we should do an entry in the parade so we did. It was lots of fun and we've already been generating ideas about what we'll do for next year's parade.

Bailey had a great time helping hand out our flyers to the people along the parade route. Eventually he got tired and decided to sit on the trailer. LT pushed Mav in the stroller. He didn't show too much emotion about the whole ordeal and just played with a flag and pencil he got from one of the other Paraders.

I Survived

I spent 2 whole days at Preteen Camp and have lived to tell the story. I really did have a good time for the 2 days I went to camp with our kiddos. I had mixed emotions coming home, but I know now that the Lord worked it all out for the good of our family. We also had a little boy come home from camp with a fever so it was good that we were already planning a trip back to El Paso. I completed the low and high phases of the camp's ropes course while I was there and today I'm living with the pain in my shoulders.

Today, we took the boys to the mall, which made me wish I was back at camp! Mav has reached a bad time in his little life - teething, grasping for more independence and never giving up a fight against his brother! Bailey is Bailey and I'm not sure will ever get past the terrible 2's and 3's. Will he ever not throw temper tantrums over EVERYTHING??? His attitude wreaks and I probably give him too many chances to get it right! I'll shoulder some blame.

Tonight, Beth and I took a solo trip to the mall and managed to snag a couple of bargains or sort of bargains. Tomorrow the boys go to Mother's Day Out at the church. I'm going to work a couple of hours and then come get Beth and grab lunch and maybe tackle a couple more stores before we have to pick the boys up at 2!

To Camp I Must Go!

I'm scheduled to load a bus to Preteen Camp at 9 in the morning. Today I got fabulous news, though. Another female sponsor has stepped in and wants to go to camp, the day before we leave! Yahoo!!! So I'm going to go up tomorrow and spend the night and come back with some parents that are going up to visit on Tuesday. This is a huge blessing because VBS isn't officially wrapped up and my budget for next year is due on Friday and I want to tweak last year's budget quite a bit! My sister is here, too, and I'm glad that she is even though my situation for the week has changed. I think we'll go to the splash park Wednesday morning and then we'll take the kids to Mother's Day Out and I'll work for a little while and then we'll go shop for a little while.

The final load of playground is here. This has been a major undertaking!

Name tags - Check!

Everyone who has pre registered for VBS at FBCEP so far has a name tag! Thanks to the diligence of my precious husband who has to get up before 5am for a Brigade Run. He willingly helped me put name tags into their plastic covers. And for some reason, though I really am emotionally and physically exhausted, I feel the need to stay up and fold clothes. Not sure where this is coming from. I'm not normally into folding clothes when the rest of the world sleeps, but tonight is one of those nights. It may stem from the fact that our friends Jed and Matt will be here on Monday and the house is looking rough! Thank the Lord for my new friend from across the border who is coming Monday to tidy it up!

New Blog

I've forgotten, in my plethora of responsibilities, to share with you that I have another blog that I'm trying to keep up! FBCEPKIDS is mainly information about what's going on at FBCEP, but every now and then there might appear some inspirational type stuff! So check it out when you get a chance.

Official

I'm officially the Interim Preschool and Children's minister at FBCEP. My mother in law told me so!

I hadn't heard anything from the church since the vote Sunday. I have just been waiting for someone to call or email and let me know that the vote was good and I was set to go, but didn't hear anything. Then this morning my mother in law emailed me and told me congratulations and that she had saw my name on the FBCEP website as the new Interim. So I checked for myself and sure enough there it was! It took someone in SC to tell me the official word. I did hear from the Family Ministries Pastor this morning, but am waiting for him to return my call so we can decide when I'll officially start.
