300th Post

We'll celebrate the 300th post with various pictures from the past couple of days.

LT and Josh were talking to their parents on Skype. This is probably the point where their dad was wearing Josh's Army Helmet. It was quite a sight!

This was too cute to resist. He may act like he's demon possessed at times, but he's undeniably a cuter than average little boy! He must've been taking a break from his chores. You'll notice his broom on the floor beside him.

I wanted to get a picture of the boys with Josh before he left yesterday, but this was about as good as it got! At least I got all 3 of them in one picture. I guess I just need to give up on ever getting good pictures with the boys in them.

Bailey refused to look at the camera even though he knew he was getting up there for the purpose of having his picture made.

Wade Strong

Here's a photo opportunity that might not happen again any time soon. This is LT, his brother, Josh, and their cousin Jordan, who is stationed here at FB. Josh and Jordan went out to eat last night and I decided I should take a picture of the 3 of them while they were all together. All 3 have Army ties - LT and Jordan are active duty and Josh is in the National Guard. One day we'll have to get them all together in their uniforms. That would be a stellar picture.

Family Pics Finally

After seeing Jen's family pictures, I was reminded that I've never scanned and posted ours. Here they are! There really weren't any out takes. Getting Bailey in a single picture was a struggle so we took what we could get.

Pictures for Grammy

Yesterday was Easter/Birthday box day in El Paso. I was instructed by my mother to take pictures of the boys in one of the matching outfits and camo Easter baskets she sent. She did admit that she knew that would be a difficult task and was willing to accept 2 separate pictures. This morning we had photo shoot #1. These are some of the results!

Bailey's thoughts - "Take it fast Mom because this is as good as it gets, trust me!"

Maverick's thoughts - "Hey Bro - what's in the camo bag that I can try to pry out of your fat hands later on because we'll never just share our candy and toys with each other!"Maverick's thought - "Hey, what's this at my feet? I'm sure not taking my hands off this sippy cup or paci to find out. I'll just kick it until it rolls down the steps and everything's laying on the floor. Just one more thing for mommy to pick up. She's used to it."

Bailey's thought - "Ha Ha! This photo shoot is going down hill fast and Maverick never smiled. I'll look like the good kid for this one. Maybe that'll score me a piece of bunny candy."

Picture Pages, Picture Pages...

Time to get your crayon and your pencil! Am I the only one who wanted one of those cool markers like Bill Cosby had when he did his picture pages on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood?

Bailey got an MP3 player for Christmas, too and I was shocked that he let me put the headphones on his precious head long enough to take a picture. And this is a Thomas PJ shirt he got for Christmas and insisted on putting it on as soon as he saw it and wore it all day long!

Maverick enjoyed listening to the music, though. Maybe he'll appreciate the Alphabet song and Twinkle Twinkle little star more than big brother does. Can you hear Bailey saying "No song!"Bailey's a whiz with his letters and impressed his Aunt Beth and PawPaw and GG Bailey with how well he knows his capital letters. Aunt Beth must've told him the name of the numbers, too, because he was telling me what they were last night. Poor Maverick couldn't enjoy Christmas thanks to his little teeth popping through. He looks pretty miserable here in his Santa sweater. He was probably mad because there weren't any snacks on that tray!

Picture Day

Here are Bailey and his buddy Emma Grace Whisonant watching other kids play Wii at the Dodson's. Don't ask me what Bailey is doing! I don't even want to know. He's probably trying to keep his hands warm :o)
This is how we spent the first few days in El Paso - standing around watching Bailey watch Monsters, Inc. He had a nice little set up, but it took me a few days to break down and buy a couple of chairs for the rest of us to sit in. Notice the lovely parquet floors!

Here's our chunky monkey, Maverick, sitting in Bailey's Cars chair. Maverick likes his bottle! We were getting ready to go to the zoo and I couldn't resist putting that hat on him.

I told you yesterday Bailey liked playing with Maverick's feet and here's the proof!

Bailey in his big boy bed. He's not as in love with it as he was the crib, but he'll learn. He woke up around 3:30 this morning so I had to go and get in the bed with him to keep from having to wake up for the day at 3:30. I don't even want to imagine that misery! He's such a wiggly worm when he sleeps that any time I wake up in the middle of the night I have to go make sure he's still in the bed and not on the floor. I'm the reason he was awake at 3:30 because I had fed Maverick and then walked in to check on him and he was laying with a pillow over his entire body with his head about a foot from the end of the bed. I picked him up and put him back on this pillow at the top of the bed. By the time I was back in our bed, he was awake and on his way to find us.
